Self drive car tours with Classic Britain offer a wide selection of hotels in many different parts of Britain. To help you make your selection, here are a few suggested itineraries. Prices given are for your guidance only as the exact price will depend on the combination of hotels chosen. GRAND TOUR OF SCOTLAND


  • Day 1 - EDINBURGH. Visit Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Zoo, Palace of Holyroodhouse, Scottish Parliament or the Royal Yacht Britannia. Overnight at the Learmonth Hotel, Edinburgh.
  • Day 2 - EDINBURGH. Another day in the capital to visit art galleries, museums or the shops. Overnight at the Learmonth Hotel, Edinburgh.
  • Day 3 - INVERNESS. Visit Loch Ness, Speyside, the Whisky Trail or spend time in Inverness, Capital of the Highlands. Overnight at the Loch Ness Clansman Hotel, Loch Ness.
  • Day 4 - FORT WILLIAM. See Ben Nevis and Glencoe, go up in the mountain gondola at the Nevis Range or visit the many woollen mills and other tourist attractions of Fort William. Overnight at the Moorings Hotel, Fort William
  • Day 5 - TROSSACHS. Visit Stirling with its Castle, or tour the beautiful Trossachs, taking in a trip on the SS Sir Walter Scott on Loch Katrine. Stay over night at the Golden Lion Hotel,Stirling
  • Day 6 - AYRSHIRE. Burns Country, and great places to golf, or spend a day in Glasgow, Scotland's biggest city. Overnight at Howard Park Hotel, Kilmarnock

  • Day 3 - THURSO. Tour the Northen Coast of Scotland, visit John O'Groats or take a day trip to the Orkneys. Overnight at St Clair Arms, Castletown (by Thurso).
  • Day 4 - DUNDONNELL. Tour the magnificent mountains and glens of the North West Highlands, visit Inverewe Gardens or stay in Ullapool for the day. Overnight at Dundonnell Hotel,nr Ullapool
  • Day 5 - FORT WILLIAM. See Ben Nevis and Glencoe, do some hillwalking, or visit the woollen mills and other tourist attractions in the town. Overnight at the Moorings Hotel, Fort William
