The Popinjay Hotel is set in eight acres of private grounds with half a mile of river frontage and formal gardens reaching to the banks of the River Clyde, and makes an idyllic setting for the best the Clyde Valley can offer. The Popinjay Hotel takes its name from an imaginary bird connected with 17th Century May Day celebrations in the area, and described by Sir Walter Scott in his book “ Old Mortality ”. The Popinjay Hotel rooms are complete with private facilities, satellite colour TV, radio, direct dial telephone, toiletries, trouser press, hair dryer, and tea/coffee making facilities. 4 poster beds are available. The Popinjay Hotel's new leisure facilities are now open and include swimming pool, sauna, gym, spa, hairdresser and massage.
